Love MoneyNext and want to know more about the people behind it? Well, we’ve got you covered. Introducing our Meet the Team series, where we catch up with our incredible team, delve into their roles and chat about what a typical day looks like for them.
This time, we caught up with our Social Media Manager, Mollie, who manages all things social media and design. From our speaker videos to our daily posts, all of our ideas are brought to life by Mollie!
Tell us about you, your role and what your day to day is like.
I am an avid list maker, so I start my week and every day with a cup of coffee and write out my to-do list. It helps me manage my time, and it’s also very satisfying ticking things off my list.
I manage our Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn accounts. So I spend my mornings amending and scheduling organic content for these platforms, analysing engagement and keeping on top of industry news. I also spend quite a bit of time with the team on zoom strategizing and planning content to go live – it’s where we share and brainstorm any ideas, which I love.
Another exciting part of my role is video editing! Alongside the team, we interview our speakers before the events. I then release these slowly over the coming weeks to build up the excitement of our events. Because of this, I also spend a lot of time scrolling through LinkedIn and Twitter looking at what our competitors are doing.
What keeps you motivated while working from home?
I’ve been working from home since the pandemic hit in March 2020. Since then, I have tried numerous things to keep me motivated (lunchtime walks or a mid-afternoon workout). But what I found motivates me the best is team catch-ups, breaking regularly for a quick snack or coffee and a good playlist.
Since moving to a 4.5-day week with flexible working. I am feeling more motivated as I can choose my hours.
What's been your favourite event or summit?
This question is a tough one. I have worked on many events and with various speakers, specialising in finance, fintech, customer experience (CX), the lot! But, I think my favourite summit I have worked on has to be the Banking Transformation Summit in May 2021.
The Banking Transformation Summit was the first event I worked on; I joined MoneyNext 2 weeks before the event started. So it was a busy period with lots to do and learn. I was thrown into the deep end a little. However, I thoroughly enjoyed having the responsibility and being fully immersed in the business at such an early stage.
Eating crickets and spiders in Thailand.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I love to explore, whether it be a long walk or a small weekend away somewhere! I love seeing the world and embracing new cultures and foods – I ate many spiders, scorpions and crickets in Thailand a few years ago. Once things reopen and travel restrictions ease, I’m very much looking forward to exploring more of the world!
When I’m not out and about, you can often find me reading a good crime thriller or playing Call of Duty!
