Love MoneyNext and want to know more about the people behind it? Well, we’ve got you covered. Introducing our Meet the Team series, where we catch up with our incredible team, delve into their roles and chat about what a typical day looks like for them.
If you’ve been keeping up to date with all things MoneyNext, you’ll know by now that we’re quite the creative bunch and no day is the same for us. This time, we caught up with our Project Manager, George, to talk about his role at MoneyNext and what he gets up to.
See what George had to say below.
Tell us about you, your role and what your day to day is like.
My name’s George, and I’m a project Manager at MoneyNext. My main responsibilities revolve around building relationships with fintech professionals in order to find speakers and partners for our MoneyNext quarterly summits.
Part of my day is spent activating and refining my outreach funnel that I use to reach out to potential partners, speakers and other potential members of the MoneyNext global community. It’s a process that involves maintaining a level of outreach activity to ensure a constant stream of new interest in the MoneyNext community, as well as tailoring my invitations and conversations to demonstrate the value in being a part of MoneyNext as effectively as I can to fintech professionals.
Additionally, my days will involve speaking over video call with new members, speakers and partners of the MoneyNext community. The fintech industry is home to an incredible variety of interesting people working on some fascinating projects, speaking and learning from whom is one of my favourite parts of my role.
What's the best thing about being part of the MoneyNext team?
The best thing about being part of the MoneyNext team is the team itself! I would describe our team as creative, caring and driven. There’s a very deep sense of collaboration that runs through our team, which made the process of joining and being onboarded super smooth. After just 1.5 months with the company, I feel totally up-to-speed with where the company is headed and how I can help us get there.
Who would you like to swap places with for a day, and why?
For me, it has got to be a professional footballer. As a big Liverpool fan and having played the sport since childhood, I’ve always been fascinated by what it takes to succeed at the top level of the sport. There are many aspects that come with being a professional: from studying the opposition and opponent psychology, to optimising your nutrition and training, and more recently, understanding data science and your own biology as a player. I’d love to get an insight into what some of the top players are doing.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I really enjoy cooking; I try to make at least one new recipe every 1-2 weeks. Spending time with friends and family is also super important to me.
What keeps you motivated while working from home?
I sit on the pro-WFH side of the fence. For me, working from home helps me to be a lot more productive as having my necessities all around me helps me to streamline my day. For just one example, shooting over to my kitchen to make a quick (and healthy!) meal helps me to save time – which adds up a lot over the weeks.
The MoneyNext team is also very socially orientated and our team calls are set up in a way that brings that ‘office vibe’ into our day. Working life at MoneyNext is very well balanced, and I love it.
